DAILY AUCTION

girlknewyork.eth will release a COVERGIRL for auction one at a time, forever. 
Each time an auction is settled, a new GIRL will become available for auction. 
We are doing it this way because we really like what Nouns DAO has done with their community. We are also doing it this way so Mira isn’t overwhelmed and everyone can still get a tattoo :) 
In the background, we are forking the Nouns Auction Contract and making a few tweaks, which will need to be audited. Specifically, we need to account for our artwork being produced analog and not generated on-chain. But we wanted to launch now because the COVERGIRLS are ready and real girls need help now.

GIRLKNEWYORK DAo

GirlknewyorkDAO is a fork of Nouns DAO, which uses a fork of Compound Governance to operate the main governing body of the Nouns ecosystem. GirlknewyorkDAO is doing things a little differently because we have different objectives than Nouns. ​

• girlknewyork.eth will hold some ETH in reserve because we are down to HODL, but occasionally we will convert some into cash to keep girlknewyork (the company) running smoothly.
• Each COVERGIRL is an irrevocable member of GirlknewyorkDAO and entitled to one vote in all governance matters.
• COVERGIRL votes are non-transferrable (if you sell your COVERGIRL, your rights go with her).
• COVERGIRL votes can be delegated, meaning you can assign your vote to someone else as long as you own your COVERGIRL.

GOVERNANCE 'SLOW START'

In addition to the precautions taken by Compound Governance, Mira and Brooklyn have given themselves a special veto right to ensure that no malicious proposals can be passed while the circulating supply of COVERGIRLS is low, or the COVERGIRLS somehow become owned by weirdos who don’t like girls. This veto right will only be used if an obviously harmful governance proposal has been passed, and is intended as a last resort.
Girlknewyork will provably revoke this veto right when they deem it safe to do so. This decision will be based on a healthy COVERGIRL distribution and a community that is engaged in the governance process.

COVERGIRL TRAITS 

COVERGIRLS are drawn randomly based on however Mira feels at the given moment. She could be in love. She could be heartbroken (lol ya, right). She might be into animals one day and botanicals in another. She might draw her famous tattoos or experiment with new ones. There are no 'if' statements or other rules governing COVERGIRL trait scarcity, which makes all GIRLS equally rare. As of this writing, COVERGIRLS are covered in these kinds of tattoos:

- body parts
- outfits
